1. About PromptShelf

PromptShelf is a Chrome extension that helps you create, save, search, organize, customize, copy, import, and export reusable prompts. An account is not required.

2. Information stored on your device

When you use PromptShelf, information you create or import may be stored in Chrome's local extension storage. This can include prompt titles and text, categories, tags, favorites, and related prompt settings or timestamps. This information is used to provide the extension's library, search, editing, template-customization, and backup features.

PromptShelf does not send this prompt library to a developer-operated server. It does not collect browsing history or read the contents of your active tabs.

3. Copying, importing, and exporting

• Copy: When you choose a Copy or Use action, PromptShelf writes the selected prompt text to your clipboard so you can paste it into another app or website. PromptShelf does not read your clipboard.
• Import and export: If you choose to import or export a JSON backup, the operation is initiated by you through the extension. You are responsible for protecting exported files and deciding where to share them.
• Other services: If you paste a prompt into another website or application, that service handles the information you submit under its own privacy practices.

4. Data sharing, analytics, and advertising

PromptShelf does not sell your prompt library, use it for advertising, or include an account system or analytics service. The extension does not transmit prompt text to an AI provider or a developer-operated backend.

The extension includes an optional link to support development through Ko-fi. If you click that link, you visit Ko-fi, which may process information according to its own privacy policy and terms. PromptShelf does not control Ko-fi's data practices.

5. Permissions

• Storage: Keeps your prompt library and preferences available between browser sessions.
• Clipboard write: Allows the extension to copy the prompt you explicitly choose to use.

6. Retention and deletion

Your prompt data remains in Chrome's local extension storage until you remove it, clear the extension's stored data, or uninstall the extension. Export a JSON backup before clearing stored data or uninstalling if you want to keep your prompts. PromptShelf does not have a remote copy of your library to restore.

7. Children's privacy

PromptShelf is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Since prompt content is user-provided, avoid entering information you do not want stored in your browser.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if PromptShelf's features or data practices change. The latest version should be published at the same public URL listed in the Chrome Web Store. The effective date at the top indicates when this version was prepared.
